Investment in Blockchain Security Will Grow. The Results of HackIT 4.0 in Kiev

Global losses from hacker attacks in 2018 amounted to $1.8 billion, which exceeds the amount of losses for the period from 2011 to 2017. A sizeable share of victims are investors and users in the field of cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology, the commercial value of which will increase to almost $180 billion by 2025. Such results and forecasts were shared by experts of the cybersecurity forum HackIT 4.0, which was held in Kiev, Ukraine, from October 8 to 11.

The fourth, annual event turned out to be multi-format: in addition to the two-day conference (Attack Day and Defense Day), the guests witnessed a bag bounty marathon, a series of roundtables, and also spent one day traveling to the Chornobyl zone in order to see consequences of a man-made disaster.

In addition to experts from the United States, Britain and France – such as Bitcoin Core developer Peter Todd, ex-leader of the Twitter security team Moxie Marlinspike, head of the Trend Micro Zero Day Initiative Brian Gorenc – the forum was attended by the Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan and representatives of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.

Decentralized technologies, cryptocurrencies and ICOs have become the main focus of attention this year. According to forecasts of the forum participant, American businessman Julian Zegelman, the commercial value of the Blockchain technology will reach $176 billion by 2025, and will exceed $3 trillion by 2030.

At the same time, the Blockchain and cryptocurrency fields continue to lose billions of dollars, the founder of several businesses in China, Remington Ong says. In the first six months of 2018 alone, the total losses of the industry (including the ICO sector, from which a total of $27 billion has been earned since 2016) amounted to $1.8 billion. According to the expert, this is one billion more than it was “given away” to hackers in the period from 2011 to 2017.

The three main objects of hacker attacks are crypto exchanges, wallets and ICOs (through phishing attacks), the businessman explained. Moreover, among the most common tools used by attackers are:

  • social engineering (phonejacking, phishing),
  • malware/client access (keyloggers, private key backups),
  • wallet (fake wallets, supply chain attacks),
  • man-in-the-middle (DNS attacks, fake websites),
  • centralised exchanges (hot wallets, inadequate processes, lack of encryption),
  • ICO (scam ICOs, faulty smart contracts),
  • Blockchain (encryption algorithm, DOS).

In addition, humanity will soon face new challenges, namely viruses in a decentralized environment, according to Renaud Lifchitz, a French IT security expert.

“In the near future we will see the use of decentralized technologies for harming,” he said.

Financial consultant, author of several works on economics, Blockchain technology researcher Dinis Guarda also pointed out one of the newest problems – the risks associated with digitization of human DNA.

“We live at times when, for the first time, researchers from various universities around the world are digitising human and animal DNA. In order to make it work for the common good, key players such as technologists, governments and regulatory boards, will need to create an infrastructure of solid systems of peer-to-peer networks, underlying operations based in strong governance and ethics. Otherwise we might fall into a science fiction dystopian scenario, which is difficult to predict, as it is the result of a series of black swan innuendo waves, triggering the potential next tsunami,” Dinis Guarda stated.

The general conclusion of experts is: investment in Blockchain cybersecurity will grow, including investment from governments.

“We have to create a vaccine against hacker intervention and manipulation to make the world free,” said Cadic Olivier, entrepreneur, head of the subcommittee on cybersecurity of the Senate Defense Committee of the People’s Republic of France.

According to the Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Dmitry Zolotukhin, one of the most important tasks today is to eliminate the human factor and increase the digital literacy of people working in the government.

In a world where the fourth industrial revolution is taking place, digital infrastructure is actively developing. However, it is becoming increasingly vulnerable, so now the number one issue in the world is government intervention in online media and IT solutions of private companies, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan said.

“I am grateful to the organizers of the event. I believe that through cooperation we will be able to create new products that will successfully protect both governments and private business,” the minister added.

Skynavpro™: Safety In the Air Traffic

Have you ever thought how many air flights are conducted in the sky everyday? More than 100,000 per day. With the scientific development and aviation itself, there has appeared a new type of flights – unmanned, using  UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, commonly known as drones). As you may have deduced, controlling all of them is a tremendously hard work; airports have no margin for error, thouthands of people’s lives are at stake. Thus, it is essential to advance navigation system, which Skynavpro™ is prone to do.

What is it itself?

Skynavpro™ is a navigation software integrated in a specially developed hardware for communication, collision avoidance and live tracking for general aviation. Its shape is a single portable box, where all the information is being saved.

The goal of the project is to create a cockpit architecture based upon portable devices. Moreover, the Team has also decided to develop blockchain-operated flight-planning and tracking platform to secure all the information on blocks inside the box.

What does the project offer?

Skynavpro™ provide all relevant flight information in one box. All you need is just buy the necessary hardware, install them and enjoy the following services :

  • free planning and navigation;
  • flying weather data;
  • 2-way text communication;
  • worldwide tracking;
  • a traffic monitor for collision avoidance;
  • SOS emergency calls.

The services are provided depending on the account: free or premium. The hardware that you may need divides into types. The first, the basic one, is BlueLine, it gives the possibility of communication for tracking and weather data. The other one is RedLine, which completes the former  through the integration of collision avoidance systems, like ADS-B (Automatic Dependant Surveillance – Broadcast) and FLARM.

Mining is currently the main and most frequently used method of getting hold of digital assets. Despite the high level of popularity, mining is still relatively new, which means that there is much to be improved. What are the main shortcomings these days? Firstly, it is a very difficult process which requires profound fintech knowledge. This limits the range of people who can use it to minimum. Secondly, mining equipment and electricity fees are extremely expensive, so not everybody can afford it. Other disadvantages include harm to the environment, duration etc. How to fix there problems?

What is Dragonglass?

Dragonglass is a unique solution that will turn boring mining into an enjoyable experience. The project developers have created a special Dragonglass app that will let you play a game and mine DGS tokens at the same time. Blockchain Conference Moscow: Results of Russian Major Crypto Event

On November 20, the heart of the Russian Federation held the eighth Blockchain Conference. Its organizer is the Smile-Expo international company.

The large-scale specialized conference brought together 40 speakers from seven countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany, and China. 500 attendees came to hear their presentations and observe the products at the demo zone.

Within the conference, the experts shed light on the industry burning issues – cryptocurrency regulation, influence of digital assets on capital management, and the future of decentralized technologies. Bitcoin rate and its prospects appeared among the hottest topics for discussion at the main stage and on the sidelines of the conference.

“Bitcoin is the main marketer. If Bitcoin grows, so does the interest in it. The same situation can be observed in case Bitcoin drops,” thinks Evgeniy Romanenko, crypto economist and moderator of Blockchain Conference Moscow.

Conference: prospects of blockchain tech and crypto market

The eighth Blockchain Conference Moscow gathered Russian and crypto experts from the leading international companies: PwC Legal (Switzerland), Russian Association of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain (RACIB), Moscow-based GRAD Attorney Bar, Airalab, Center for Digital Transformation at Vnesheconombank, State Duma Financial Market Committee, the St. Petersburg community of blockchain developers, QIWI Blockchain Technologies, and MIOT Blockchain & Guilin Pharma.

One of the speakers was Aleksey Studnev, developer and CTO at Izetex PTE Ltd: the expert shared his opinion on the future of blockchain within the nearest decade.

“Cryptocurrency rate is information noise that has no impact on blockchain operation,” reckons Aleksey Studnev.

He also claimed that the technology would follow the steps of the Internet and would become an indispensable feature of every smartphone. As reported by the expert, this would be the main aspect to affect the volume of the crypto market that would dramatically grow popular.

DarQube Founder Rostislav Haliplii told about the functionality of modern crypto exchanges and the role of artificial intelligence in trade on the crypto market.

“The primary target of AI technologies introduction into a DarQube platform is assisting traders in building revenue-generating strategies. AI can be applied to turn a good strategy into the brilliant one,” explains the speaker.

The conference consisted of two specialized sections – Fintech (cryptocurrencies) and Blockchain (tokenization and ICO). Among the top speakers, there were Gerbert Shopnik from Bitfury Group, Leader of PwC Legal Switzerland Guenther Dobrauz-Saldapenna, Michael Chobanian from UNA.io, Vice President at RACIB Valeriy Petrov, and Prof Simon Choi from China.

Panel discussions with top speakers

The event consisted of a panel discussion titled ‘Regulation of blockchain and digital financial assets’. The most experienced Russian crypto experts and lawyers took part in it.

Among them, there were lawyer and expert on international financial and corporate law Maxim Pervunin, Director at OECD Centre RANEPA (the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration) Antonina Levashenko, Partner at Nektorov, Saveliev & Partners (NSP) Alexander Nektorov, lawyers Alexey Sinitsyn and Maria Agranovskaya, and Advisor to the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation Helen Avakyan.

“Development of documentation that meets the standards is important, it should also reflect emerging aspects and provide new terminology. Another vital step lies in its application,” thinks Maria Agranovskaya from Moscow-based GRAD Attorney Bar.

The experts discussed cryptocurrency influence on capital management and obstacles on the way of digital money development. The panel discussion was part of the Fintech section. Meanwhile, Blockchain section specialists took part in the panel discussion titled ‘Evolution of the blockchain technology – period of experiments’.

Demo zone: Mining 2.0 and cutting-edge hardware

Attendees had an opportunity to visit a traditional demo zone to observe products and services of the event participants – Cryptoferma, FAP LLC, DiPlex, GIXCUP.IO, DarQube, Hotmine, NRGMiner, AS1C, Mining-LAB, Bitferma, Quantium, Pacific, WattsOn, and GoWeb.

Particularly, Hotmine presented its equipment for heat generation by means of mining. As reported by the company representatives, heat produced by such devices will be a basis of the future mining.

At the booth of the manufacturer of 51ASIC mining equipment, attendees had a chance to take a look at ASICs, hardware wallets, control boards, power units, main bodies, and cables.

The leader of the Russian mining market WattsOn showcased its new product – ASIC BITMAIN ANTMINER S15. The company also announced the launch of a new pool.

Attendees had a possibility to ask the demozone participants any questions concerning their products, partnership conditions, and even their forecast of a Bitcoin rate.

“Our company was working during Bitcoin’s first and second fork. We witnessed the period than Bitcoin skyrocketed from $175 to $1000, and then from $2000 to $16 000. Everybody poses us the same question – when will it shoot for the moon again? Here is my point of view: as soon as the next halving comes about, Bitcoin will dramatically rise,” commented a Hotmine representative.

Organizers

Blockchain Conference Moscow was organized by Smile-Expo, an international company with a 12-year experience in this sphere, which is 250+ events, 356 000+ attendees, 500+ speakers, and 500+ top exhibitors.

CryptoWorkPlace: The Safest Innovative System To Protect Personal Data Around The World

Security of the cryptocurrency assets is “nagging pain” of every crypto-related person. To make matters worse, there are only a few options which are likely to guarantee the user a full protection. Yet, even they cannot contest against hackers, who use new methods to penetrate the system faster than anti-viruses can detect that intrusion. Let us look at figures, in the first half of 2018, about $1 billion worth of cryptocurrency was stolen from crypto wallets due to a lack of security measures. So, what should a person do to protect digital assets from white hats? The best solution is to join CryptoWorkPlace.

What is CWP itself?

The CryptoWorkPlace is a decentralized system that is based on a USB flash drive (Micro-PC). The latter is an independant PC with its own operating system (CWP); it requires a keyboard, monitor as a usual computer. The CWP Micro-PC provides users protection against hackers’ attacks, malicious programs and unauthorized access to data.

Although all the information will be saved in internal memory of CWP Micro-PC, it is not just a cryptocurrency wallet or a key storage; it also allows user to obtain the following benefits:

  • multicurrency wallet;
  • chat channels;
  • various trading platforms;
  • others.

Security is the main priority of CWP

All the apps are designed on the donor – isolated environment from PC. The user data, depends on user’s decision, is encrypted on the device to create safeguard against hacker attacks, like phishing, exploit, hack, ponzi schemes, etc.  It is also preferable to use a separate PC running Linux will all apps to use only cryptocurrency wallet on it.

A CWP user is able to block, remove, delete all the data saved there if the device is lost or damaged. A new device may be attached to your account restoring all settings and programs from the previous device.

Token pre-sale details

The token pre-sale has already started. The token is CWT-P, which is created only for pre-sale, TGE participants will be able to exchange CWT-P token to CWT ( 1 CWT–P = 1 CWT). The token is developed on the the Ethereum platform. CWT-P costs $0.12 per coin. The total token supply is 500,000,000 CWT, the amount of tokens available for pre-sale is 15,000,000 CWT. The soft cap is $240,000, the hard cap is $1,800,000 for pre-sale. The currencies accepted include BTC, ETH, and others

If you are interested in this project, please, follow the link and buy CWT-P tokens.

Blockchain Life 2018: 5000 Guests, 80 Speakers, 10 Winners

The Blockchain Life 2018 forum ended in St. Petersburg, Russia.

For two days (November 7 – 8), over 5,000 delegates at the Expoforum discussed the future of blockchain,  cryptocurrencies and technologies, shared methods and experience in building successful projects, trading and mining. The forum also identified the winners of the Blockchain Life Awards 2018!

The main goal of the event was to unite the global crypto-community, to teach the audience to invest wisely in the blockchain industry and to help those who want to create their own project in this area. No doubts that the goal has been achieved – interesting speakers, excellent networking, a large-scale exhibition and a cool atmosphere made it work just right.

The forum was attended by leading Asian foundations, crypto traders, founders of ICO projects, businessmen, blockchain developers and miners, representatives from the Okex, Huobi and Kraken exchanges, as well as, creators and top managers of key cryptocurrencies.

Roger Ver from Bitcoin.com and blockchain.info were among the speakers. His speech took place via  Skype. Roger spoke about how cryptocurrency will change the world. We agree with him that cryptocurrencies are the future and today they are changing the world economy. Among the speakers was Martin Kuvandzhiev from Bitcoin Gold, Vyacheslav Bredikhin from Bitmain, Vit Jedlichka from Liberland and other international speakers of the industry.  In total more than 70 speeches and presentations in two halls over two days.

The session devoted to ICO projects deserves special attention: the experts noted that the ICO market is now “in a deplorable state” and start-ups are to blame for this. Most of the projects are terrible, and the blockchain technology is used in them not in a proper way. “You shouldn’t think how to screw a token into a stubbing stall and raise money on it – you need to do something really worthwhile,” said Sergey Chmel, senior partner of MATRIX CIB, in his speech. He also noted that the ICO will not die – instead, they “will regroup and will move on, taking something from the venture capital industry.”

The exhibition was attended by projects from various fields: stock exchanges, exchangers, manufacturers of mining equipment, ICO and blockchain projects. The project LH Crypto, in February of this year, completed a token sale with a result of $ 11,000,000, presented  their main product – crypto-broker LH-Crypto.Their guests were entertained by the heroes of Crypto Clowns show.

On the second day of the forum, the winners of the Blockchain Life Awards 2018 were awarded. The Best Cryptocurrency Media nomination was taken by Forklog (by the way, Anatoly Kaplan,The founder of Forklog also gave a speech on the topic “Blockchain industry: from sandbox to global economy”). The award in the nomination “Best centralized cryptocurrency exchange” received two projects – EXMO and KuCoi. Cointraffic became the best advertising network for promoting crypto projects. The nomination “The Best Russian Blockchain Project” also turned out to be two winners: XDNA and  Goldjob. CRYPTO-A became the best agency for promoting ICO. The winners in the Best ICO Advisor nominations were also determined as well – Nikolay Shkilev and The Best ICO Legal Adviser – Dmitry Machikhin.

”We did not expect to receive an award. Although, we told all our clients that we were participating in the prize competition and asked them to vote for us. So out victor for us is a honest confirmation that our clients are satisfied by our work! “– noted CEO of Crypto-A, Alena Narinyani.

Not without incidents – during the online voting, a cyber attack happened on the nomination “The most promising ICO”. As a result, the organizers had to cancel the nomination in order to maintain objectivity.

We took part in the nomination “The Most Promising ICO” and were very upset when our nomination was canceled. Nevertheless, the InnovaMinex project has become one of the most promising projects according to Blockchain Life 2018 and we want to thank everyone who supported us, ”said Ekaterina Bublik, Marketing Adviser of Innovaminex.

The two days large-scale forum ended an after party at the restaurant “Tsin”, with Dmitry Grachev, the famous comedian and the resident of the Comedy Club.
